Every season there are some handbags that, whether you can afford them or not, you may well covet. That studded Balenciaga, the snakeskin Zagliani, the purple Mulberry - they just seem to define the season. If I sound like a fashion victim I apologise but there we are, I want them all (and my bank manager would kill me if I did anything about it).
So, having looked at all those £1000 plus gorgeous and unattainable goodies, and bearing in mind that you probably will want to invest in at least one new handbag this season but you won't want to spend a ridiculous amount I decided that this season's Bag Awards would only go to those that were accessibly priced, would go this season and beyond and most of which would take you from lunch to cocktails without a blink.
