Buying clothes online isn't always the easiest thing to do. Yes the choice is marvellous and yes you can find things online that you'd have to have a real search for in the stores and see immediately if they have it in your size but of course the real drawback is that you can't try it on.
If you're a size 8/10/12 this isn't such a problem usually provided the brand you're buying from doesn't try and be too clever with its sizing (making everything larger or smaller than the norm) which tends to be the case with the larger generic brands (who make things larger) and 'superbrands' who like to size down. These often don't actually want you wearing their clothes if you're over a size 12.
I have narrowed it down to a few favourite boutiques, where they not only have a good range of wearable clothes from a wide choice of designers but they're also delighted to help you if you want advice. Browse the range online and then give them a call.
Where bags, shoes, jewels and scarves are concerned the mix at these boutiques is superb and there really is nowhere else as good with as much choice. You try. I have done several times. You don't get the 'immediate' thrill of the purchase in the same way as you do when you buy that Marc Jacobs clutch offline but neither do you have any problems whatsoever if that guilt sets in the following day and you want to take it back (inevitably to change it for something else a tad more expensive). Buy here and you'll see. |
