This is an exquisite collection of baby and children’s wear designed by Marie Chantal of Greece. As you would expect the prices are quite steep, but you’ll be hard put to find this quality of fabric and modern use of colour and design in many other children’s stores. The clothing is available in two sections; babies, and toddlers (although some of these go up to age 8). If you want something really special you should have a look here.

As well as offering brands such as American Apparel, Antik Batik, Caramel Baby and Child and Bonnie Baby this is an excellent destination for gifts which they’re happy to ship worldwide. This is a family run business operating out of their shop in Kent and offering designer children's clothes from 0 - 12 years from labels such as Oilily, Bench Par Principesse, Oxbow, Gabrielle, Elle, Cacharel, Kenzo, Dior and loads more (and I mean loads). They also have the Petit Bateau range of underwear for boys and girls, nightwear and dressing up clothes and they specialise in a gorgeous range of christening gowns and accessories.

Labels stocked here include Mim-pi, Ciao Bimbi, Portofino, Beetlejuice and Salty Dog and they’re adding and changing the brands offered all the time. Don’t expect a hugely sophisticated website from this retailer based at a shop in North Lincs, but the photographs are clear, there’s free delivery on all UK orders and if you see the same item somewhere else at a lower price they’ll beat it.

You may well have read in the press about the Elizabeth Hurley Beach range and here it is online. There's wonderful, sexy, stylish swimwear, chic kaftans, dresses and tops and a choice of knitwear and t-shirts. This is a company that was established in London in 1971, aiming to provide fashionable, unique and high quality children’s clothing. They now offer their excellent own brand collections online for children up to age 12/13, and there are some really gorgeous outfits here, particularly for girls, plus designer childrenswear by Moschino, D & G, Armani, Versace and Roberto Cavalli. Do not expect to save money when you visit this website, it’s definitely not cheap.

Yes US brand Tommy Hilfiger is now online and it’s an excellent place for cool kids to shop as the styles are great and it’s not overpriced. There’s a very good selection of modern daywear from casual shirts and baby cord skirts to colourful knits, jackets and accessories. There's also a gift section and the option of gift boxing for all items offered. This is a really easy website to shop from and you’ll no doubt find something for yourself there as well. Sizing goes up from age 3.

There’s a huge range of labels available here with DKNY, Confetti, Catimini, Jean Bourget, Juicy Couture and Replay as just a small example. The web background is very pink which doesn’t help you to see the clothes but when you click on ‘more details’ for each product you can see them more easily. They also offer a lot of great shoe brands, such as Lelli Kelli, O’Neill and Pom D’Api and they’ll deliver worldwide.

Teddywear is a small internet boutique selling high quality children's clothes including brands such as Balu, Catimini, Marese, Miniman, Little Darlings, SULK, Chipie, Lili Gaufrette, Babar, Timberland, DKNY, Diesel, Confetti, and Pampolina. You can search by age or brand and as they update their stock regularly keep coming back to see what's available. There's a really good selection up to age 9/10 as well as a baby section.

With labels such as Lacoste, Paul Smith, Ted Baker, Hackett, Timberland, Diesel, DKNY, Nike and Guess you'll probably have to fight to keep your children off this website and warn your bank manager if you fail. Wildchild are a fairly new childrenswear company aiming to appeal to both children and parents (is such a thing possible?) and offer their ranges for girls and boys up to mid teens.

Here you'll find, yes you guessed it, clothes just for boys, from 2 - 14 years old and including designers Ripcurl, Salty Dog, Eager Beaver, Regatta and Flyers. There really is a great choice with casual clothes from t-shirts to boarding trousers and football trousers plus an excellent sale shop and some fun and funky swimwear. It was difficult to know where to put this website as these are really gifts for children but as just about everything in the kids’ section would make a great present and they have some lovely, well priced t-shirts, I thought I’d drop them in here. I’m sure that my kids were never as well behaved as the ones in the pictures here, where delightful girls and boys in gorgeous clothes are happily playing and laughing and modelling. Rose and Robin is a Danish web shop that offers high quality children’s clothes from a variety of Danish designers such as Fablefant, Mini A Ture, Phister and Philina and Slike and Suus. I have to confess none of these are known to me, however, some of the clothes are very pretty, different from what you’ll find here and reasonably priced. When you click on a garment you get several views plus a really enlarged picture where you can see all the detail.

The approach at Their Nibs is to offer a truly distinctive children's clothing collection to fill the gap between the national chains and independent retailers who stock all the usual brands. The collection, which includes lots of prints, is continually updated and inspiration comes from a variety of sources including their own in house, "vintage” collection. There are some really pretty clothes for children aged 0 - 8 including perfect dresses for little flowergirls.

Their pretty styles incorporate beautiful traditional fabrics such as velvet and tweed, taffeta and silk plus some washable fabrics. Recently they’ve established a more casual line which includes things like chambray jeans and pretty camisoles but the overall look is very pretty and girly. Couple all this with their reasonable prices and you’re sure to find your daughter’s next party dress here.

Tansen is an eclectic, pretty and different range of clothes and accessories for women, girls and boys inspired by the East, with designs following the traditions and beauty of Nepal, India and Japan incorporating embroidery and vibrant colours, fabrics such as silk saris, chiffon, cord and cotton, hand knit and crochet and prints embellished with sequins, beads and jewels. There are some really gorgeous things here, particularly for little girls, which would make lovely gifts.

If you’re looking for attractive childrenswear you must take a look here, as Caramel have one of the most attractive websites and best collections around. The clothes are designed for babies and children aged two to twelve and you can also buy shoes, boots and socks. Each part of the range is divided into themes so you can clearly see what works together and you never feel swamped by the amount of choice.

At Poppy you’ll find a small, pretty range of town and county clothes for children aged one to six years, based on their own unique fabrics and borders. This is really a perfect collection of dresses for little ‘girly’ girls rather than the tomboy variety and is based on pretty pastels and eye catching designs for summer and deeper colours for autumn. Then there are padded jackets and cardis to complete the look and you can order fabrics and borders as well.

Brora was established in 1992 with the aim of offering classic fine quality Scottish cashmere with a contemporary twist, with prices that offer real value for money. This well thought out childrenswear website has gone straight into my list of favourites, as it’s attractive to look at, easy to navigate and offers an original and reasonably priced range for boys and girls from 2 to 6 plus a separate babies’ collection. Brands include Inch Blue, Cacharel, Elizabeth James and Butterscotch. There are also some very good gift ideas for new babies and children including gift sets and toys and you can buy gift vouchers which can be sent out on your behalf.

Mitty James offers luxuriously soft towelling beach robes and holiday wear for babies, kids, children and teenagers along with traditional cotton swimwear and classic daywear. Once you’re on this website it’s difficult to leave without buying something, particularly if you’re just off on holiday, as the pictures are filled with prettily coloured childrenswear perfect for holiday and beach. This is a fun and colourful website aimed mainly at kids (although there is a small collection for adults) and offering hand-made ponchos, chunky hooded jackets, chullos (ear flap hats) and gloves all made in local alpaca wool just outside Lima, in Peru.
